Actuarial Director - Medicare

Being apart of the changes in healthcare and helping this company continue its track record of success: This is a visible position with a national in scope focus that will fill multiple roles. One role will be to direct a team that will gather insights through creative analysis of our Medicare data, into how we can better meet the health needs of and improve the health of its Medicare beneficiaries and provide possible guidance for our provider networks on how to be more effective and efficient, while also meeting their needs.

The second role will be to direct a team that will coordinate all CMS bid and financial audits and provide project management support to all of the Senior Products Actuarial team. As a major player in the Medicare space, we undergo a number of such audits every year. This will involve significant contact and coordination with departments throughout the company.

As an Actuarial director you will: lead a team of actuarial associates in the assessment of risk, opportunities, and mitigating strategies that could positively impact the financial performance as described above. You will also actively promote a strong management team, providing technical and staff leadership in order to aid pricing, product development and improved experience reporting initiatives within the company.

Reporting Relationships

You will have 1-5 direct reports, and you will report to a Senior Actuarial Director. This area is under the leadership of the Chief Medicare Actuary and the SVP, Medicare Operations .

Role Requirements:

Bachelors Degree in Actuarial Sciences, Applied Mathematics or a related field

Actuarial experience in the group health solutions industry or a similar actuarial work environment. Prior Medicare experience is desirable.

Membership in the American Academy of Actuaries, and Associate or Fellow status with the Society of Actuaries.

Role Desirables

FSA, or Career ASA with at least 10 years experience in Health Insurance.
